One of the show’s directors asked for permission to film at Original Steve’s Diner on Penfield Road. The restaurant owner, Steve Janetos, was surprised by the phone call, just one day before the shoot was scheduled. They were seeking a small town diner atmosphere, and thought the location would be a good fit after reading customer reviews and looking at photos of it online.
