The holidays at Turning Stone will officially begin on Monday, November 19 with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, starring the season’s favorite guests – Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and their Elves. Attendees of all-ages can have their pictures taken with Santa at no cost and tell him what’s on their Christmas lists. The festive celebration also includes the grand opening the resort’s renowned Gingerbread Village, recognized for the last several years by Forbes Travel Guide as one of the best gingerbread villages in the country.
Turning Stone’s 2018 Gingerbread Village will be on display this year in the resort’s Exit 33 Atrium (near Tin Rooster), measuring more than 70 feet in length and includes nine towering buildings, including a bakery, hotel, Tudor-style home, a church, a barn and more. All edible, the village consists of more than 700 pounds of gingerbread dough, 2,045 pounds of icing and more than 750 pounds of candy.
Turning Stone Executive Pastry Chef Dennis Miller and his talented pastry team have fun every year designing, baking, decorating and building the elaborate Gingerbread Village.
